England moves on to Semi-Final matchup against U.S. with 16-2 Win over Germany |

COQUITLAM, B.C. - England glided to a 16-2 victory over Germany in their play-in game at the 2008 ILF U-19 Men's Lacrosse
World Championships at Percy Perry Stadium on July 8.
With the win, England will play in the semi-finals on July 10 against USA at 4:00 p.m. at Percy Perry Stadium in
Coquitlam. USA beat England by a score of 24-4 in their final robin-robin game played Monday afternoon. USA is
riding a perfect 34-0 record in tournament play after going 5-0 in the round-robin at the 2008 tournament.
England dominated the entire first half by scoring five goals in the first period, including three by Greg
Rowlinson, and four goals in the second to go into the locker room up 9-0 at half. Michael Armstrong was flawless at
the faceoff x for England going a perfect 6-0 in the first half. England goaltender Anthony Hayes was not bus in the
first half but managed to stop all five shots thrown at him by the Germans.
Germany got their first goal by Alejandro Brown at the 9:29 mark of the fourth period after England had built up a
15-0 lead. Christian Baum scored in the final minute for Germany's second and final goal of the game.
Rowlinson finished with four goals and an assist and Matt Lord finished with five points (3G, 2A) to lead England in
the victory.
